Bio
When I was very young I lived in Saudi Arabia. My family was not Muslim, in fact we didn’t have a practiced religion growing up. Before returning to the states we also traveled to India, the Maldives, Sri Lanka, Thailand, China, Japan, and I’m sure a few places I’m forgetting. On this tour of the planet we traveled to many sacred places including, perhaps the most beautiful, the Taj Mahal.

Back in the States I felt alienated, and have spent most of my life feeling like an outsider in one way or another. But I’m realizing recently that my sense of separation is not the result of uniqueness, but of a universal similarity that crosses all cultures, religions, nationalities, and even genders. And so I am as alienated from everyone as they are all alienated from one another.

It is my intent in this journal to catalog my physical, intellectual, and spiritual travels throughout this life in an effort to reveal, perhaps for myself, what has brought me to my present circumstance as a 24-year-old, Skirmish-American, Muslim man living in Hayward California, and to document my scholarly study, and mindful reflection on the Holy Quran.
